Beginning level telescopes will show you countless lunar craters, Saturn's rings and a myriad of star clusters and nebulae! Referring to the manual is recommended. Great for families, young people, and folks who don't want to mess with equipment and complexity. Optical instruments with this rating will have very good optical and mechanical quality. Some initial assembly may be required depending on the type of product. A useful accessory tray provides a convenient storage spot for idle eyepieces and other accessories.īeginner Level - Suited for a wide range of uses, these products are simple to operate and set up. The adjustable-height aluminum tripod allows you to set the StarBlast 4.5 Equatorial Reflector up for comfortable views, while remaining lightweight so the entire assembled telescope is easy to transport to and from your favorite stargazing location. Observations of everything from the Moon to Messier objects appear exceptionally sharp and rich in contrast through this petite reflector telescope. Their large and comfortable eye lenses, wide 66° apparent field of view, and aluminum construction set them apart from other eyepieces. Expanse oculars are higher-quality than what is usually included with a beginner telescope. This tripod-mounted version of the StarBlast 4.5 reflector offers an even more pronounced wide-field viewing experience compared to its tabletop counterpart, as we've upgraded the telescope eyepieces to include two from the Orion Expanse series - a 15mm and 6mm - which have a large 66° apparent field of view. The combination of short 450mm focal length and sizable 4.5" aperture means the StarBlast 4.5 will provide brighter views at any magnification compared to longer focal length telescopes, which makes it easier for everyone, especially beginners, to locate interesting sights in the night sky. The 4.5" aperture reflector telescope's short focal length serves up a generous chunk of sky in the eyepiece, making it easy for beginners to find celestial objects to study. This delightfully compact, easily portable telescope unites the much-heralded parabolic optics of the Orion StarBlast 4.5" wide-field (f/4.0) reflector telescope with our sturdy EQ-1 equatorial tracking mount and the cable-free AstroTrack motor drive. This winning combination of our popular StarBlast 4.5 EQ Reflector and AstroTrack Motor Drive is a complete telescope setup ideal for any backyard astronomer who wants to enjoy the benefits of motorized tracking with a wide-field optical instrument.

7/23/2023 0 Comments Onyx hotel boston parkingI'm really surprised at the attitude of this hotel's staff. Apparently, I was supposed to know that the remote only works if you are pointing it directly at the bottom right-hand corner of the TV. He got annoyed at me and said that I'm not using the remote control correctly. I called the front desk, and they sent their electrician. After that, my TV remote control wasn't working consistently. When I asked further as to what I should do then, they said that there's shower gel in the shower that I could use. I called the front desk, and they simply said that the hotel was out of hand soap. In my bathroom, there wasn't any hand soap for the sink. Unfortunately, that's kind of where the good stops. The good part of the Onyx is its location, namely its proximity to North Station, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market. Racquel & Kimpton, thank you a million times over for making our trip to Boston so memorable for me & my 79+ year-old dear Daddy! We will never forget you or the Onyx! Shoutout to Vincent as well for his amazing hospitality! The Kimpton/IHG company (& we were) so incredibly lucky to meet and know you!… Racquel went out of her way to help us and even inquired about our drive home to Detroit. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time an employee made me feel so welcome, appreciated, and cared for at a hotel. I would always be so happy to see her at the front desk! I would say in jest, but also somewhat meaning it, “Oh look! There’s my new best friend Raquel!”. She assisted us when Dad & I were soaked during a rain storm, was very patient with our requests, and just an all-around wonderful person. She was so genuine, welcoming, fun, and kind. During our stay, we were lucky to see and be greeted by Racquel daily. He made sure to have some goodies for us in the room, and gave us a nice upgrade that was very comfortable for both my dad and me. Then, the day before we left, I spoke with Vincent and shared with him that my dad will be turning 80 within the next 6-7 months. She was very kind, thorough, and gracious. First off, I called Kimpton Onyx a few times to inquire about restaurants, and I spoke with Racquel and a couple occasions. We did take the T to Fenway from the North Station and that was a very easy walk and trip. The neighborhood is charming, and we were close to everywhere he wanted to go between the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy market, as well as even Boston Commons & the Back Bay. We were so very excited, and the Kimpton Onyx did not disappoint. I took my 79-year-old dad to Boston so that he could see Fenway for the first time ever. Drops that grow larger than 4.5 millimeters (about three-sixteenths of an inch) become distorted into a parachute-shape as they fall, and then eventually they break up into smaller drops. These water droplets are spherical (round) in shapes, mainly due to the surface tension of the skin of the droplet. A lot of known issues are documented at the top of this page. 1) Spherical Shape When humid air in the atmosphere cools down sufficiently for condensation to take place, small water droplets form around dust, pollen, and smoke particles. High in the atmosphere, water collects on dust and smoke particles in clouds. In particular, there are some issues around name coverage abroad and around engineered features (dams, canals, etc.). Splash erosion is the initial phase of soil erosion by rain and dominates particle erosion and redistribution prior to the generation of overland flow, and its impact on splash rates has not been fully understood yet. Hey everyone, glad you all are enjoying the project! Raindrop splash describes processes related to a raindrop impacting a soil surface. Many states eased mask requirements for those who are vaccinated after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised that fully vaccinated people could go without masks in most indoor and outdoor settings. Some states continue to require the use of masks for unvaccinated people, and some governors are still mandating that businesses observe social distancing rules, even as they lift capacity limits. In the few states that have yet to fully reopen, governors have set targets for doing so based on vaccination rates or other health measures.Ī full reopening still comes with rules in many places. States have moved closer to lifting all restrictions on businesses and gatherings as the vaccination campaign has progressed. A nationwide patchwork of rules for businesses and residents resulted over months of trial and error, as governors reopened some sectors only to later re-close and reopen them again as infection rates rose and fell. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, it has been largely up to state and local officials to determine what restrictions, if any, to impose to slow new infections. To unlock much of its central mystery, Deacon must snoop on the comings and goings of the National Emergency Response Organization, aka NERO, as they research the freaker outbreak. Even so, I found compulsory stealth-only story missions the least welcome variety in Days Gone. As long as they’re not facing you, they’ll rarely become aware of your presence. Though you can’t hide bodies in Days Gone, enemies are spread out enough that you can stealth kill one and often leave a body in broad daylight without it being noticed. While long grass and plenty of cover help, run-ins with human enemies are made easier by the fact that enemy AI is rarely clustered together. Zom-byeStill, human marauders and feral Freaker-wannabees, called Rippers, who occupy camps (aka outposts), are fun to rumble with, even if they present a somewhat easy challenge because of a very forgiving style of stealth gameplay. One, who is introduced in the later stages, feels particularly redundant, and is there purely to cause conflict rather than exist as a fully realized character in his own right. The human antagonists, on the other hand, are as interesting as cardboard cutouts: they’re virtually all roughly sketched bad guys who are bad for bad’s sake. His gruff charm and unassuming ‘I ain’t no leader’ demeanor is mostly well voiced by Sam Witwer (AKA Darth Maul on Star Wars: The Clone Wars), aside from moments where he inexplicably yells during stealth missions and an occasional tendency to over-act in more frantic sequences. John is an endearingly gentle and sweet-natured protagonist. When you slow down for a minute or two, these issues combine with a dreary, uninteresting open world and add up to an uneven and mostly toothless zombie experience. For a gruff biker dude traveling through a zombie-infested (okay, they’re technically virus-infected humans called Freakers, but functionally the same thing) Oregon, Deacon St. Yet through its 60-odd-hour ride, Days Gone loses its focus with repetitive missions, a meandering and thematically unsatisfying storyline, and an excess of bugs and busywork. Sometimes, there are spectacular hordes of them. Days Gone kicks off relatively simply: you play as a biker riding through an open-world zombie post-apocalypse, seeking answers around his dead wife and smashing enemy faces in with crunchy, weighty melee weapons. 7/23/2023 0 Comments Elton john rocket man letraAmong numerous other performances, John played "Rocket Man" at the launch site of Space Shuttle Discovery in 1998. The song has been a staple of John's concerts. 245 in the list's 2010 revision, and 149 in the 2021 revision. 242 in the 2004 list of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time it was ranked No. Record World said, "Elton John explores the outer limits of the possibilities of pop music" and that the song "should be a huge hit it's one of his best." Legacy The first stanza of "Rocket Man" was thought of by Bernie Taupin while he was on the motorway heading to his parents' home he had to "repeat it to himself for two hours," which was "unfortunate", but in later interviews he said that since it gave him a hit, it was all worthwhile. It is also known for being the first song in John's catalogue to feature what would become the signature backing vocal combination of his band at the time, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson and Davey Johnstone. Musically, the song is a highly arranged classical rock ballad anchored by piano, with atmospheric texture added by synthesizer (played on the recording by engineer Dave Hentschel) and slide guitar. And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then." Rosenthal's account goes on to relate that the notion of astronauts no longer being perceived as heroes, but in fact as an "everyday occupation", led Taupin to the song's opening lines: "She packed my bags last night, pre-flight. The song describes a Mars-bound astronaut's mixed feelings at leaving Earth to do his job. According to an account in Elizabeth Rosenthal's book His Song: The Musical Journey of Elton John, the song was inspired by Taupin's sighting of either a shooting star or a distant aeroplane. Taupin has denied that the Bowie song was an inspiration, but has acknowledged borrowing from Pearls Before Swine's 1970 " Rocket Man," written by Tom Rapp, which was also influenced by the Bradbury story. The song was inspired by the short story "The Rocket Man" in The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury, and echoes the theme of David Bowie's 1969 song " Space Oddity" (both recordings were produced by Gus Dudgeon). William Shatner's spoken-word version from 1978 has been widely parodied. John himself, alongside producer Pnau and singer Dua Lipa, included the song in his 2021 mashup single " Cold Heart (Pnau remix)". The song has been covered by many artists, most notably by Kate Bush in 1991 with a reggae-tinged version, and by Portuguese singer David Fonseca in 2007. 149 of its 500 greatest songs of all time. With sales of 3 million in the US the song was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song first charted in the UK on 22 April, rising to No. It was originally released on 17 April 1972 in the US, as the lead single to John's album Honky Château. " Rocket Man" (officially titled " Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)") is a song written by English musician Elton John and songwriter Bernie Taupin and performed by John. A generator was installed for a water pump and electricity. There existed an indoor garden with slanted floors that would carry excess water to trap doors which had pipes that would supply water to the outdoor flowers. An annunciator, an early form of intercom, which was a common feature of large homes during this time period, was installed for calling servants. There were chandeliers from Germany, art glass from Austria, furnishings from Asia, and paintings from France. The ceilings had mouldings, stencils, and faux finishes. The wall coverings had a leather or metal appearance, known as Lincrusta wall coverings. The second floor had bedrooms that each had adjoining sitting rooms and sewing rooms. A large, brick fireplace was framed by two windows that included quotes from Shakespeare. Woods such as teak, maple, and mahogany were used to make an intricate pattern on the ballroom floor. There was carved wood on the ballroom walls and ceilings. The design was essentially Victorian, with elements of Gothic and Romanesque features. Multiple levels, up to five, were added to different parts of the home. As a result of her expansions, there are walled-off exterior windows and doors that were not removed as the house grew in size. In the San Jose News of 1897, it was reported that a seven-story tower was torn down and rebuilt sixteen times. She was known to rebuild and abandon construction if the progress did not meet her expectations, which resulted in a maze-like design. While the home was similar in scope to other homes built then, it was unusual for a woman to look after such a project and, Colin Dickey states in his book Ghostland: an American History in Haunted Places, she could be considered an architectural pioneer of her time. She took inspiration for the house from the world's fairs that were common then. She designed the rooms one by one, supervised the project, and sought advice from the carpenters she hired. With plans to expand the farmhouse, Winchester hired at least two architects but dismissed them, deciding to do the planning herself. Winchester and her husband had developed an interest in architecture and interior design while building a home on Prospect Hill in New Haven. Winchester died on September 5, 1922, at the age of 83. In 1904, Winchester purchased a large property near the hamlet of Burlingame, north of Coyote Point, then bought a houseboat, or ark as they were called at the time, instead of building a house. Winchester subsequently purchased a home for the couple closer to the train station for Fredrick to travel to work from. One of the homes was offered to Daisy and her new husband to live in, which they accepted. That same year, Winchester purchased several homes and properties in Atherton. In 1903, Winchester paid for Daisy's wedding to Frederick Marriott III. They attended charitable events together and were paying members of Associated Charities and the Red Cross. Merriman became Winchester's administrative assistant, looking after business correspondence and banking. In 1890, Winchester's niece, Daisy Merriman aged around twenty-one, came to live with her. Since the property reminded her of Llanada Alavesa from the Basque area, she named her new home Llanada Villa. She purchased the property from John Hamm which included a two-story, eight-room farmhouse. He showed her a forty-five-acre ranch for sale that was located near San Jose. In 1886 Edward "Ned" Rambo, a San Francisco agent for the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, took Winchester on a tour of the Santa Clara valley to look for a home. Winchester invited her three remaining sisters to follow her to California, which they did. Winchester, Heiress to the Rifle Fortune, her doctor's recommendation, her happy memories of traveling to San Francisco with her husband in the 1870s, and advertising about the weather and health benefits of California were possible factors in Winchester's decision to move. According to Mary Jo Ignoffo in her book Captive of the Labyrinth: Sarah L. In 1885, at the age of 46, Winchester moved to California from New Haven, Connecticut. Around this time she began developing rheumatoid arthritis and her doctor suggested that a warmer and drier climate might help improve her health. In 1884 her eldest sister, Mary Converse died. She was left with a large inheritance from her husband. īetween the fall of 1880 and the spring of 1881, Winchester's mother, father-in-law, and husband died. Diagnosed with marasmus, she did not thrive and only lived a month. In 1866, Winchester gave birth to a girl named Annie Pardee Winchester. She married William Wirt Winchester in 1862. Sarah Winchester, always called Sallie, after her paternal grandmother, was born in 1839 in New Haven, Connecticut. 7/22/2023 0 Comments 7 year itch posterDue to the value of this item a supplementary P&P charge will be required for overseas buyers.
